The simplicity of ZixCorp Email Encryption Services drives switch in providers
PITTSBURGH & DALLAS, Jan 25, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Zix Corporation (ZixCorp), (NASDAQ: ZIXI), the leader in email encryption services, was selected by Highmark Inc., one of the nation's largest Blue Cross Blue Shield organizations,to provide secure email across three Highmark companies -Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Western Pennsylvania, Highmark Blue Shield in Central Pennsylvania and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia. Highmark is replacing its legacy service provider with ZixCorp(R) Email Encryption Servicesdue to ZixCorp's superior ease of use.
"Everyone is being asked to do more with less. Anytime we can remove barriers to getting things done, we reap the benefits, and we can do that with ZixCorp," said Brian Smith, Highmark Messaging Systems Manager. "Its ability to encrypt email transparently from one ZixGateway to another is more efficient than other solutions and a huge benefit when interacting with our partners."
Through ZixGateway(R) and ZixDirectorySM, the world's largest email encryption community, all communication between ZixGateway customers is transparent. ZixCorp offers the only fully transparent email encryption, which delivers secure email without any additional steps; not even a password is needed. For recipients without ZixCorp Email Encryption Services, encrypted messages can be opened through ZixPort(R) - a secure portal - or directly in their inbox through ZixDirectTM.
"ZixCorp's multiple delivery methods provide our end-users with more options for receiving and sending secure email. Combining its ease of use with a reputation as a 'set it and forget it' solution, ZixCorp represents the next generation in ease of use and provides the kind of reliability and security I need," said Smith. Smith also cited ZixCorp's strong position in the healthcare and government markets as contributing factors to Highmark's decision.
"Complex email encryption systems can be disruptive to business operations, impact efficiency, threaten compliance and, most importantly, irritate customers and partners due to burdensome procedures," said Rick Spurr, ZixCorp's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Secure email doesn't have to be complicated, and ZixCorp designed its services so encrypted email can be as simple and painless as conventional email."
Highmark becomes the 32nd Blue Cross Blue Shield organization to use ZixCorp Email Encryption Services.
"We are extremely proud to gain the trust of Highmark, one of the nation's top health insurers," said Spurr. "We are also excited that our next generation email encryption solution is being adopted as the platform of the future."
