DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 2005--Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging, e-prescribing, and e-transaction applications and services, today announced that three healthcare organizations have recently chosen ZixVPM (Virtual Private Messenger) as their secure email solution: AirLogix, Charlotte Radiology, and Langlade Memorial Hospital.
Each organization signed a three-year contract for the service, which provides system-wide email encryption and includes a built-in lexicon that detects outgoing protected health information (PHI) to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
AirLogix, an industry leader in respiratory disease management with headquarters in Dallas, purchased the service for 500 users. Charlotte Radiology, a regional facility in North Carolina, has 350 users. And Langlade Memorial Hospital, a Catholic nonprofit hospital in Antigo, Wis., will protect the email of 500 users.
