DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2007--Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), the leader in hosted services for email encryption and e-prescribing, today announced the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will be using the company's Email Encryption Service to communicate securely with the other financial regulators. ZixCorp's encryption solution will be used by the Federal Financial Institution Examination Council (FFIEC) agencies, which supervise the nation's financial institutions.

"In today's business environment, all organizations need to proactively protect their customers' privacy and their own reputations by securing business communications that contain sensitive information. ZixCorp now supports five encrypted email delivery mechanisms, including S/MIME, TLS, OpenPGP, secure portal and "push" delivery.

About the FDIC

Congress created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in 1933 to restore public confidence in the nation's banking system. The FDIC insures deposits at the nation's 8,743 banks and savings associations and it promotes the safety and soundness of these institutions by identifying, monitoring and addressing risks to which they are exposed. The FDIC receives no federal tax dollars - insured financial institutions fund its operations.
