DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 2005--Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)) (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging and e-prescribing solutions and services, today announced that Town North Bank, an independent full-service financial institution based in Dallas, has signed a contract for ZixVPM (Virtual Private Messenger) e-mail protection services.
"In addition to our own data, we process work for about 400 other financial institutions. ZixVPM will not only protect our information, but will secure their information as well," said Gary Farrar, executive vice president and CIO for Town North Bank. "We were impressed with ZixCorp's customer list and its total turnkey solution. We don't have to do much at all on our end to ensure e-mail security."
ZixVPM is an enterprise-wide e-mail encryption solution that will protect the communications of up to 499 Town North Bank users. It also includes a built-in personal financial lexicon that automatically detects e-mail containing information mandated by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) as personally identifiable financial information, including Social Security numbers, account numbers, credit card numbers, and financial terms.
"We're building excellent momentum in securing communications for the financial community," said Rick Spurr, chief executive officer for ZixCorp. "With major security breaches making headlines and the mandates of GLBA affecting business policy, data security is of primary importance."
