GHA Annual Convention and Trade Show Feb. 15 -17 includes ZixCorp participation
DALLAS, Feb 14, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging, e-prescribing, and e-transaction applications and services, today announced it has been selected to participate in the Georgia Hospital Health Services' (GHHS) HIPAA Security Vendor Alliance.
The relationship will enable Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) members to purchase ZixCorp email encryption and other eSecure services through its subsidiary GHHS. ZixCorp's secure e-messaging services will enable these organizations to meet the email requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
"Educating our members about HIPAA has been an ongoing strategic initiative for GHA. Having ZixCorp join our HIPAA Security Vendor Alliance is an excellent way to inform our members on how to get their email security up to speed in time for the April deadline," said Glenn Pearson, executive vice president for GHA. "We selected ZixCorp as a secure e-messaging vendor because its services were recommended by member hospitals as easy to use, easy to deploy, and includes a built-in healthcare lexicon for detection and encryption that makes securing protected health information automatic."
ZixCorp will also be an exhibitor in the 2005 GHA Annual Convention and Trade Show, which runs Feb. 15-17 at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta.
"We're very excited to be working with GHHS," said Rick Spurr, acting chief executive officer, president, and chief operating officer for ZixCorp. "This partnership, in addition to another major hospital association in Georgia, gives us the means to broadly communicate and deliver interoperability, ease of use, and seamless integration capabilities of our e-messaging services to major healthcare facilities throughout the state."
The selection by GHHS follows ZixCorp's selection by other hospital and payor cooperatives including VHA Georgia, the New Jersey Hospital Association, the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, All Health, and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
