DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 2003--
Mid-Atlantic company signs exclusive three-year agreement and expands ZixCorp's growing presence in Mid-Atlantic region
Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(TM)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of e-messaging protection and transaction services, today announced that AllHealth, a shared services alliance owned exclusively by healthcare providers, has agreed to promote ZixCorp services to their network of hospitals and non-acute healthcare organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region. The three-year agreement will enable AllHealth customers to comply with regulations requiring privacy and security for Protected Health Information (PHI) including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Based in Harrisburg, Pa., AllHealth serves more than 1,600 healthcare customers in the Mid-Atlantic region. The agreement allows AllHealth's customers to purchase ZixCorp services, including encryption, anti-spam, anti-virus, and email assessment solutions through AllHealth more cost-effectively than if purchasing on their own. ZixCorp's suite of on-site, hosted, and managed care services are easily customized and adapted to the varied needs of AllHealth customers, from hospitals and specialty facilities to integrated delivery networks and large physician practices.
"It is important that the companies we partner with provide our customers valuable, practical, and efficient services," said D. Patrick Mazzolla, president and CEO of AllHealth. "We found ZixCorp's interoperability, ease of use, and specific healthcare-related features an excellent choice for healthcare facilities. We're pleased to be able to offer ZixCorp's email protection services to our customers."
AllHealth's recommendation of ZixCorp follows other Mid-Atlantic healthcare organizations that have selected ZixCorp services including Blue Cross of Northeastern Penn., Hospital and Health System Association of Penn., Select Medical Corporation, Keystone Health Plan Central, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Independent Health, St. Agnes HealthCare, and Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield. The New Jersey Hospital Association also selected ZixCorp in a similar preferred-provider agreement.
"ZixCorp continues to build momentum with healthcare organizations on the East Coast," said Wael Mohamed, vice president of global sales and distribution for ZixCorp. "As our strength increases, I'm proud to see another shared services association recognize the benefits of secure e-messaging and how ZixCorp can help organizations achieve not only HIPAA compliance, but a high level of protection that is fast becoming the standard for the industry. AllHealth customers will easily be able to integrate our email protection services into their existing systems, no matter what their size or email capabilities."
AllHealth is a shared-services alliance owned exclusively by healthcare providers. It serves more than 1,600 facilities in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Central and Western New York, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. AllHealth customers pay no dues, membership fees or capitalization.
