Zix Corporation Renews and Expands Contract with MultiPlan; Company Signs 800 Users to ZixCorp Secure E-Messaging Solutions with Three-Year Deal

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2005--Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging, e-prescribing, and e-transaction applications and services, today announced that MultiPlan, Inc., one of the oldest and largest healthcare networks in the country, has renewed and expanded its current contract for ZixCorp communications protection solutions.

MultiPlan has signed a new three-year contract that includes 800 users of ZixVPM(R) (Virtual Private Messenger), ZixMail(R), and ZixPort(R) services. ZixVPM enforces the company's email policies, including a pre-configured HIPAA lexicon that automatically detects and encrypts confidential Protected Health Information (PHI) for all incoming and outgoing email. ZixMail is a desktop email encryption application that enables users to encrypt, decrypt, and exchange private and secure emails on an individual basis. ZixPort provides custom branding and encrypted messaging functionality to MultiPlan's Web site.
