Company Reaches Milestone as e-Prescribing Pioneer Processing 10 Million Scripts Following Successful 2006 Growth
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27, 2007--Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), the leader in hosted services for email encryption and e-prescribing, today announced its PocketScript(R) e-prescribing service, a SureScripts Certified Solution(TM), has achieved GoldRx(TM) certification through the SureScripts GoldRx Certification Program. The Company's GoldRx status follows on a successful 2006 with 43 percent revenue growth for e-Prescribing, as noted in last week's release of year-end results. The Company also announced that PocketScript had reached a significant industry milestone, having surpassed the 10 million scripts processed mark.
GoldRx status mandates that physician software and service providers meet a number of benchmarks for "live" customer deployments - with new physician users and within a technology provider's existing install base. GoldRx certification also requires technology providers to implement changes to product workflow based on feedback and best practices from physicians at hundreds of practices around the country. Supporting certifications for medication history (from community pharmacy) and formulary and eligibility information (from SureScripts-certified payors and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs)) are also mandatory.
"I am very proud of the hard work and dedication of our e-prescribing team that led us to GoldRx status for PocketScript, and we remain committed to working closely with SureScripts to boost patient safety at the point of care," said Rick Spurr, chief executive officer for ZixCorp. "We are continuing to build on the strong momentum in our e-prescribing business following a record year for PocketScript in 2006. We are the recognized leader in this emerging market, where we are the #1 or #2 vendor in the key metrics of active prescribers and e-prescriptions processed with SureScripts. This GoldRx certification validates our premier status in the industry, and we believe that the payors who are sponsoring e-prescribing initiatives across the country will expect this level of expertise and commitment, along with a track record of success, when selecting their e-prescribing partners."
