DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 2003--
Webinar Sept. 16 to Discuss End-User Compliance and How to Discover and Eliminate Information Leaks
Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(TM)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of e-messaging protection and transaction services, today announced it will conduct a Web seminar Sept. 16 highlighting the risks healthcare organizations face with their email policies and how to ensure an effective secure e-messaging program.
The Webinar "The Hazards of Email Security Policies: How Companies Can Accurately Assess Effectiveness" will examine the problems in complying with the email safeguards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) through security policies alone and how to overcome those problems. In addition the session will include a discussion on ZixAuditor(R), an email assessment service that identifies email security vulnerabilities and helps implement higher levels of protection. Cary Reams, ZixCorp director of product planning, and Russell Morgan, vice president of client services, will conduct the seminar.
"Recent ZixAuditor results have shown that up to 53 percent of healthcare organizations fail to secure Protected Health Information in their emails," said Reams. "These information leaks are often occurring even though there are security policies in place. Correcting these oversights is the right thing to do not only to ensure compliance with HIPAA, but to ensure good business practice."
The Webinar will be broadcast Sept. 16, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. EDT at www.zixcorp.com/series. Registration is required and may be obtained at the Web site.
