Latest Release Enhances ZixDirect "Push" Delivery Capabilities
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 2006--Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), the leader in hosted services for email encryption and e-prescribing, today announced the availability of ZixVPM(R) 3.1. The company's latest release provides improved performance in scanning and encrypting large emails, and enhanced security and ease-of-use in the ZixDirect "push" delivery option. ZixDirect now also uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to secure email communications to reduce the risk of attacks by cyber criminals. Additionally, ZixDirect users can now securely forward a message and save their password, greatly improving the user experience.
ZixCorp's Email Encryption Service reduces the risk of data leaks, prevents potential security flaws and protects private customer information, all of which have been the focus of recent government regulations such as HIPAA, GLBA and various state privacy laws.
ZixDirect is an optional delivery method for ZixVPM users that delivers encrypted emails directly to the recipient's inbox. With ZixDirect, there is no client software to install and encryption capabilities are not required for the recipient to read the secure message. With ZixVPM 3.1, users that receive a secure ZixDirect message can securely forward the email or add additional recipients when replying. Users can also save their password so reading a secure email is as easy as opening any email attachment. These capabilities combined with the move from 3DES to AES encryption means users get the security they need with the ease-of-use they want.
"ZixCorp continues to provide an easy-to-use, robust encryption service which enables our clients to communicate privately and securely with their customers," said Scott Petry, founder, chief technical officer and executive vice president of product development at Postini. "Expanding our solution with ZixDirect enhances our Postini Encryption Manager Service."

"We are constantly looking for ways to bring further convenience to our network of users and adding functionality to this expanded secure delivery service demonstrates our focus on the customer," said Rick Spurr, chief executive officer for ZixCorp. "ZixVPM 3.1 continues to build off of the seamless interaction users get through ZixDirect, which enables a robust online and offline communication experience."
As the leading email encryption service provider, ZixCorp protects over six million email recipients and allows seamless encrypted email delivery to healthcare organizations, insurers, financial institutions and regulators, including four of the five banking regulatory agencies.
