Industry Experts Join New Zix Corporation Strategic Advisory Board



DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 2005--

Visionaries in Healthcare, IT Security, and Federal Government Initiatives Provide Guidance and Expertise

Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging, e-prescribing, and e-transaction applications and services, today announced the formation of an advisory board to provide strategic guidance and expertise to the company as it grows its customer base in healthcare, finance, government, and IT security.

The charter members are: Dr. Gail R. Wilensky, an advisor to Congress and a former presidential appointee; Amit Yoran, former director of the National Cyber Security Division at the Department of Homeland Security; and Marc B. Mazur, a leading healthcare and disease management consultant.

Wilensky is a senior fellow at Project HOPE, an international health foundation, and currently co-chairs the Pay for Performance Subcommittee of a new Institute of Medicine study charged with re-designing insurance benefits, payments, and performance measurement. Her positions have included: co-chair of the President's Task Force to Improve Health Care Delivery for Our Nation's Veterans; chair of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission; chair of the Physician Payment Review Commission; deputy assistant to the president for policy development under George H.W. Bush; and administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration (now CMS) in the Department of Health and Human Services. She is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and a member of their governing council, and also sits on several corporate and nonprofit boards.

Yoran was appointed by George W. Bush as the administration's cyber chief, responsible for coordinating the nation's activities in cyber security. Prior to his position as the cyber chief, Yoran served as vice president for worldwide managed security services at Symantec Corporation. He was also the founder, president, and CEO of Riptech, Inc., a leader in outsourced information security management and monitoring. He has also served as director of the Vulnerability Assessment Program within the Computer Emergency Response Team at the Department of Defense.

Mazur is the founder of Ambassador Capital Group, a private investment and advisory firm focusing on healthcare and financial services, and has more than 18 years experience in the financial service and healthcare fields, especially in risk management and Internet service delivery for healthcare. He is the former executive in charge of strategic business development at CareInsight/Medical Manager, now part of WebMD. Prior, he was an officer and head of Eurobond business at Goldman Sachs and held positions at other Wall Street firms. He has been both an advisor and investor in the business of disease management, healthcare risk management, and alternate site delivery. He is a member of the New York Governor's advisory commission on managed long-term care and serves as senior advisor to several public and private entities and organizations.
