DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 2004--Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq: ZIXI), a global provider of e-messaging protection and transaction services, today announced it will participate in a hearing on e-prescribing standards presented by The National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics (NCVHS) May 25-27 in Washington D.C. The meeting will be conducted by the advisory body's Subcommittee on Standards and Security.
Daniel S. Nutkis, ZixCorp executive vice president and chief strategy officer, will testify during the "E-Prescribing: The Software Vendors' Perspective" session on May 26. The hearing will provide opinions on the requirements for e-prescribing standards set forth in the Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement & Modernization Act.
The NCVHS serves as the statutory public advisory body to the Secretary of Health and Human Services in the area of health data and statistics. In that capacity, the Committee provides advice and assistance to the Department and serves as a forum for interaction with interested private sector groups on a variety of key health data issues.
